The first time i heard about a Cat 5 Crossover Cable was a long time ago. When I was starting to work as an IT Support. I was too shy ask our Network Engineer, what it was. "The German bank WestLB has said how much it expects to lose from its exposure to US sub-prime mortgages and unauthorised stock market trades.
It expects to make a net loss of 1bn euros ($1.45bn; £744m) and a similar amount in write-downs.
The bank is now reported to be planning to cut up to 2,000 jobs and may merge with a rival state lender

The US sub prime mortgage crisis is a lot bigger than anyone knew or surmised. The ripples (more like tsunami’s) just keep on arriving.
When and where will it end?
Nobody knows for sure but the net result for the low men on the totem pole (that’s you and me) are not through with pain and suffering yet, not by a long shot.
Expect more foreclosures, a not-so-mild recession , continuing decline in real estate values and the rising spectre of inflation. (Oil at $100 a barrel plus).

It’s not as if these two companies have been flying under the radar or anything, but in case you haven’t noticed, not only is there a question now of Dish Network vs Direct TV when it comes to your TV service, you’re also obligated to throw Verizon’s new Fios service into the mix, not to mention digital cable.
Fios claims to be the next best thing in all things digital — from TV to Internet to phone service. The jury is still out on this in my opinion, and we’ll just have to wait until all the reviews are in to make a final decision.
