Sometimes taking an extra step can really pay off with your time and money. My parents decided to take the entire family to six flags for a vacation. This included Mom and Dad, four kids and 12 grand kids. What an adventure and what a chunk of change! My mom decided to do a little research and found some great six flags discounts and saved a great deal of money. She purchased them on line, so instead of the whole crew waiting in line at the gate we just walked right through. We all had a wonderful stress free vacation together.

I realize that alcoholism is a disease and that it happens to people in all walks of life. I also realize that when people are alcohol addicted, their mission every day is to get their daily “fix” of alcohol so that they do not experience alcohol withdrawal symptoms. Even acknowledging all of this, something still bothers me about alcoholism that has not been emphasized. Once a person is addicted to alcohol he or she has lost control over drinking. That is, the alcoholic must drink. But what about a person’s responsibility and self-control before alcohol becomes addictive? In other words, while people are engaging in alcohol abuse why can’t they realize what drinking is doing to them? Why can’t people who have a drinking problem stop drinking before they lose total control over their drinking behavior?

Crazy to think how inefficient jet lag actually is. On a worldwide basis, it would be incredible the number of hours that are wasted readjusting to a new time zone. Both with business travelers not at their full mental capability, and with vacation travelers needing a day or two before they are really able to appreciate the sights they are seeing. Unless one of the lucky few that is not affected by jet lag, one tends to walk around in a bit of a daze for at least a day or two. I have read a number of tips to reduce the effects, and they work to varying degrees, but never totally.
