I took the whole family for vacation in South Africa. We had a blast. The south africa car rentals are pretty good too, all late model cars. We got some local maps and did all the driving ourselves. OK, OK, we did get lost a couple times, but on vacation isn’t that what you are supposed to to. We kind of think getting a little lost just means we saw some places that weren’t our our list of places to go. I have to say that we did find some really good local restaurants and the food was great and priced lower than we expected.

When you go out to get some chocolate, you may have an acquired taste for a specific kind of chocolate right? Well did you know that their are different types of things you get from different types of chocolates? Some benefits of dark chocolate are the coca content is higher and the many “feel good” chemicals are more potent. If you love chocolate and never thought about why it made you feel so good, now you know. Chocolate has a way to maintaining a good mood, making it last longer. It also tastes pretty good too! I always start my day with chocolate!

Every year my children and husband and I make Christmas cookies and then write our santa letter. Now, obviously my husband and I do not believe in Santa, but we do have four children, and even though the older ones do not believe anymore (they are 11 and 13), they do it with us for the sake of the younger kids (six and three). Not only that, it has become a tradition at our house that will probably continue well past the age of belief, and that is what makes it special for us. Not that we believe in santa, but as a family we write our letters together.

My father hates hospitals. He is famous for avoiding medical care until it’s almost too late.
When he was in his early forties he began to have abdominal pain from time to time. But, since it would come and go, he decided to ignore it.
My mother begged him to have it looked at, but he said he didn’t want to have some big, complicated medical procedure. He’d just tough it out.
One day he woke up sweating and in agony. Mom rushed him to the hospital where he was diagnosed with appendicitis. When his doctor ran tests, he also found that Dad had a serious heart problem.
Fortunately Dad had surgery to remove his appendix and treatment for his heart. And that was the last time he ignored a symptom.
