My wife and I have always had a will made out, ever since our children were born. We wanted to make sure that they would be raised by the people we chose in the event that something ever happened to us. Luckily we are still alive and well. Now that our children are grown and we are expecting our fifth grandchild my wife pointed out that we should update our will. It is hard to believe we have never made any changes to it in all the years that have passed. We have done pretty well for ourselves and will leave our children in pretty good shape. My wife wants us to see and advisor for inheritance tax planning advice. There is no point in the kids losing half of everything because of our lack of planning.
