I work with animal rescue and never know what kind of animals someone will bring to me. One night around midnight I was called by a Miami Animal Control officer who had found a squirrel that had been injured and needed medical help. She brought it to me and it was in pretty bad shape. Something had torn it’s side open and it was full of maggots. I sprayed it with a special medication used for just this type of situation. I started it on antibiotics and took care of it until it was well enough to be released back into the wild. It was such a joy to watch him go off into the trees.
