We are the quintessential summer bar-b-que family. The biggest problem is not having enough shade. The sun and be oppressive if you allow it to be. We took the initiative and put in Patio Vinyl Shades. These are easy to take care of and can even be taken down or rolled up when not needed. For us the best options included a retractable cafe trellis that can cover most of the deck closest to the back door. We also added some over sized Vinyl Umbrellas to go on the tables set further out in the yard. Now everyone that comes to our bar-b-que can find excellent shade.

We seem to need our outdoor lights on the house left on a lot so that we will be able to see our way to the door when we are going to be coming home late. It must really be adding to our electric bill, so we are considering putting in solar post lights in order to cut down on the bill a bit. We will get some that are motion activated so they don’t use up their power too quickly. We should get enough sun according to the information I have looked up, so I just need to save up the money to buy them.
