Years ago I bought an old folk guitar and, like many college kids, learned the basics. Originally I just wanted to “be cool” and intended to learn just enough music to impress people at parties. To my surprise I enjoyed it found it not only brought out my creativity but could soothe my frazzled nerves at the end of even the worst days. Eventually I went online to a site where people can both learn and master guitar. The lessons I found there have taken my playing to a new level and I have even joined a group. I still have my old folk guitar and consider it one of my smartest investments.

One of my fondest childhood memories is going to my grandfathers house and looking at his bachmann model train sets. I would just sit and watch them go around for hours. When my grandfather passed away, he left all of the train sets to me, which touched my heart. Since then, I have purchased other sets to go along with my collection. Some of the new models are fantastic, but my favorites will always be the ones that my grandfather gave to me. I am so glad that I have these trains to remember him and all of our good times together.

As the Vice President in charge of operations at my job, I am often so piled up with work that I can hardly even remember what I have to do from one second to the next one. As I grow older and older with every day that passes, I’m realizing that there are still lots of things that I want to do. Though I’m still not 30 years old, I’ve decided to write up a bit of a bucket list for myself, you know, things I want to do before I die. One of the things that I want to do before I die, is try to learn guitar. My father has a beautiful wolfgang guitar, that he has said I could borrow to try and learn on. I just need to make the time, and find an instructor.
