The Smoky Mountain Nature Wildlife

May 31st, 2009

Because most of the park is filled with thick and dense forest, viewing wildlife in the Smokes can be challenging.  That holds true for attempts to photograph some of them also.  There are some more open areas like the like Cataloochee and Cades Cove areas.  These two areas will offer you some of the best places to see some Smoky Mountain nature. There are white-tailed deer, black bear, raccoon, turkeys, woodchucks, and other animals.  Have your camera at the ready because you just never know when one might appear in front of you. The Roaring Fork Motor Trail, with its narrow, winding road allows motorists to travel at a leisurely pace and sometimes experience sightings of bear and other wildlife.
