It has been quite a wait to learn to drive

It has taken me ten years to learn to drive. When I say it has taken me ten years, what I mean is that it has been ten years since I first filled out a provisional driving licence application. I have not been taking lessons for tens years. If that were case, I would be worried. Now as I go to take my first lesson on Thursday I have been thinking that it is a little strange how long it has taken me. My best friend, Stewart, would often make fun of me for taking so long. I think the reason is that he was there when I went to get my photo taken for the application form all those years ago. That was when I was nineteen years old, now I am twenty-nine and looking forward to my first lesson. I guess the length of time it has taken is testament to my laziness, but I am resolute now and cannot wait to get started.
