Buy Share or Mutual Funds with Basics of Stock Market Investing

October 5th, 2009

I went to an investment seminar over the weekend to learn all I could about putting money into the stock market. Many people were leery of putting money back into stocks, but at the seminar, I learned that now is a great time to invest because many strong companies have very low stock prices. One of the biggest basics of stock market investing that I learned was that you can either buy individual shares of a company, or you can invest in mutual funds that own shares in many different companies. Both options have positives and negatives, but what I really like about the mutual funds is that I don’t have to make all of those individual decisions on companies. I can decide what risk level I am willing to tolerate, and buy funds based on that.
