Do Many Jobs Require You to Take a Pre-employment Test?

I am really bad at taking tests, and lately it seems that whenever I have gone on interviews they have wanted me to complete a pre-employment test. Interviews are so stressful even without the added stress of taking a test, I am worried that I am going to blow all of the tests. I am wondering if most employers require this type of test now. If so it is going to be a lot harder for me to get a job, unless they are just questions that are more meant to find out about my personality and my trustworthiness than my job skills.
