My Brother In Law Did Cheap Stock Trading

My brother in law is always talking about how much money he is making from cheap online stock trading. One boring day with nothing to do, I decided to try it out myself. I found a good website, signed up, and started right away. Unlike my brother in law, I started losing money right away. I asked him why and he said it was normal and that the same thing happened to him. He lost some money then got a lot back. I thought the same would happen to me, but after a couple of months, I lost thousands of dollars.
