I am working in chch, New Zealand, and have to say that is has been a real adventure backpacking across the south island. If you like wine, and fun time then chch is the place to be, start at Nelson and work your way down!!
Great jobs in Chch, best thing to do is register with the backpackers and a few websites. you earn more money in chch than in Nelson, Dunedin etc so make sure that you do the work there and then have some fun exploring. goto www.christchurchjobs.co.nz to plan.
