We Had Primitive Electronic Data Management For The Shop Floor

May 31st, 2009

When I was in college and grad school most of my classes were built around the concept of electronic data management.  After I graduated I realized how big a difference there is between academia and work place reality.  When I arrived at my first job I discovered that electronic data management for the shop floor meant that meant that there was a terminal where the shop supervisor could enter data at the end of each shift.  After having been exposed to the most modern techniques in my school it was difficult to adapt to the way thing were being done on the shop floor here.
