Zune 3.0 allows Manual Sync Mode to control content

There are many new features that come with the new Zune 3.0 software update. But Matthew Miller of ZDNet had just discovered a new feature of Zune 3.0 that has yet to be discussed. iPhone 3G Accessories says he discovered that Zune 3.0 has a Manual Sync Mode feature that will allow users to manually sync and/or delete music, videos, and picture files. Unfortunately, the Podcasts, Friends, and Channels modes do not carry these features. These modes still run on a automatic sync mode. This is due to the nature of the content of these modes. But as far as music, videos, and pictures are concerned, they will get to embrace the new Manual Sync Mode feature.

Real Estate Success

When I was in my early twenties I moved to Florida and went to work for a title insurance company.

Most of the other employees were also young, and some ambitious. One young man, Doug, was determined to make it big in real estate.

He learned a lot from our customers and, within a few years had a small office of his own, a staff of three, and had invested in Yardi Real Estate Software to help him organize. With just that little start, he made a lot of profit.

Because of his hard work and good thinking, Doug went on to become a true local success, with his picture appearing often in the local papers.

Who uses royalty free music?

Well, anyone can really use royalty free music, but there are some people who are more prone to downloading and using it than others. I mean, if I wanted to, I could download the beats for use as personal ring tones for my cell phone, but for the most part royalty free music is used as background music in commercials and songs. People can download the music and use them to no end and never have to pay royalties to the creator of the beat or instrumental, which is why this type of music download is very popular amongst artists and commercial directors.

Paid aerial photo services vs free ones

When you are looking for aerial photos just for fun, of say your neighborhood or just seeing where a friend you met online lives then Google Earth or Microsoft terraserver-usa is a great choice. When you need quality Usgs Aerial Photo shots for business or for planning a development strategy, land acquisition and so forth, then a paid service may be a better buy for you. The paid services offer you a much better product, and most of them have things you just can’t get on a free service. Higher quality photos are also found on these paid services. In the case of the terraserver sites, the free site has very few if any foreign aerial photos in their arsenal where by the paid service has exclusive graphics and high resolution images you wont find on a free service.

The Xbox 360 should win this console war

For a while, I’ve said that Microsoft needs to find a way to attract more customers and bring more people on board. The first step, I said, was to lower the price of the Xbox 360 all over the world to increase its value to consumers and finally make it an ideal solution for customers.

Just one day after writing that here on The Digital Home, Microsoft did just that. And according to Xbox 360 Blog, Xbox 360 sales over the weekend subsequent to its announcement of the price cut were six times higher than sales over the previous weekend. Granted, these are internal Microsoft numbers and we’ll need to wait another month to see what the impact will be when NPD releases its official numbers, but I don’t doubt Microsoft’s sales numbers at all.

From the beginning, the Xbox 360 had the kind of potential the other consoles simply didn’t. Sure, the Wii is selling well and there’s no sign of it slowing down, and finally the Playstation 3 is catching up to the rest of the pack, but Microsoft has an advantage aside from online gameplay now that it has taken the pricing lead from Nintendo.

The biggest barrier to entry for many consumers in the video game space is price. Because of that, millions of consumers needed to decide which console they prefer based on their budget. Since the Wii was released, those choosing with their wallets picked the Wii. But now, they can pick up the more powerful console at even more affordable price.

There are two ways to be successful in business: product differentiation or pricing differentiation. The way I see it, Microsoft has the advantage on both counts.

Let’s face it–the Wii isn’t something you play on a daily basis. I own a Wii (and the others, too) and I know all too well how most of my friends and I play: we pick up a game, play nonstop for a week or so, and never play it again. And during the time between playing games, my Wii goes largely unused. And unless a group of friends are over, I don’t see much reason to pick up some Wii games and start playing.

In other words, the Wii is for fun and the console you’ll normally play at a party. But for those times when you’re alone, you simply won’t.

The Playstation 3 is an entirely different story altogether. That console is more costly than its competitors and has the kind of third-party support Nintendo could only dream of. But when it’s compared to the Xbox 360, it strikes me as an overpriced behemoth that fails on too many levels to make it an attractive buy at the store.

MobileMe: Is Syncing Hard… or Downright Impossible?

Mild Mannered Industries, which claims some experience with Sync Services, has an interesting and insightful blog post about how MobileMe syncing probably works, why syncing in general is so hard, and if we can ever look forward to a day where MobileMe actually, really, truly “just works”:

Is this really Apple’s fault? In the case of Mobile Me, and .Mac before it, all of the code is essentially Apple’s, but I think this just goes to show how hard it is to get a sync client and the core sync services code right. When you add in all of the third-party Sync client code, and mail synchronization, it just seems inevitable that many users will hit a problem at some point, and become very very unhappy.

Their glass-not-only-half-empty-but-broken-and-spilled-out-on-the-table outlook?

Personally, if it was me, I would have let .Mac die a quiet death. The problem set for ubiquitous syncing is just very very hard, and the consequences of failure, in terms of user dissatisfaction are too high. I suspect that, in time, MobileMe will go the same way as the Newton … Apple News

Our take? Pretty much the opposite. Not to get all Tennyson about it, but Apple is strong of will as they come, and striving, seeking, and finding the most reliable sync solution possible is only going to increase in importance when it comes to the mobile world they’re embracing with the iPhone and related technologies. Perhaps they won’t crack the nut, but they’ll mess it up something fierce in the attempt. And come on, would any of us really rather have no sync at all?

Hosting Company Reviews - Are they All The Same?

It must be getting tougher and tougher, figuring out which web hositng companies are worthwhile to use and which ones should be avoided like the plague. If you go to most sites that have hosting company reviews, you are going to be really dissapointed.   Most of them don’t give you any kind of information that you can use.  To get the real scoop, you need to get reviews based on actual customer feedback.  These review sites should have done their homework and research the internet through all the forums, chat rooms, etc.. to see what the reputation of a web host has before they gave some kind of review.  If you don’t notice any kind of impartiality, don’t use them.

He was planning to surprise me with the news

I just could do nothing but laugh once we realized what we had done. My husband had been listening to me complain about all the things that I had to do this week and the lack of time I had.  As soon as I came in the door, I told him about how I goofed while entering the Dish Network vs Direct TV review. Then he told me that he had made a review too so that I would not have to do it. He was planning to surprise me with the news when I got home. I thanked him for his efforts and then we shared a good laugh over dinner.

When your data needs to be store and accessible as well as secured

Data these days is the new gold. Having access to this data is essential especially to remote offices and virtual offices over VPN networks. Livevault Online Backup is one of the services that handles this type of back up service. It can hold an extraordinary amount of data for easy retrieval any time, day or night, 24 hours a day! The costs of data storage have come down while the features and space has gone up and in many cases the space is no longer being metered calling it unlimited space and bandwidth packages. We’ve come a long way in the last 50 years!

Brother 9420 Toner

When you find yourself sitting in an office all by yourself working late and you need to print out a bunch of documents you may run into some problems you didn’t plan for. I was in this situation myself when I tried to get some documents printed but the Brother 9420 Toner cartridge somehow got dislodged. I’m not surprised however as it is in this spot where people keep bumping into it pretty hard and it was a matter of time before something happened like this. I wasn’t sure where the cartridge was but a quick internet search and I was able to find it and reseat it. Problem solved.

RegCure review

My RegCure review found this registry repair product to be the very best registry cleaner that you can buy.  Why is RegCure such a great product?  Because it will quickly get your slow computer running back to the way it is supposed to.  RegCure was created by a software company called Pareto Logic, the same company that developed the spyware remover that we have found to be the best on the market, and it is called XoftSpySE.  RegCure will not cost an arm and a leg.  It retails for about 30 dollars, though you can find it for cheaper with a coupon.

Codemasters’ Overlord heads to Wii and DS

Nintendo DS News has reported that Codemasters announced today that its Overlord series, which first launched on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC last year, will now be hitting the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS in two brand new adventures - Overlord Dark Legend and Overlord Minions respectively. Set in a time before the original title, players take the role of a rookie Overlord, with the task of protecting his castle and lands. You’ll control every aspect of the world’s Minions’ lives by poking and nudging them with the Wii Remote pointer. If one annoys you that much, you can also shake them vigorously, initiating an internal explosive device. Sounds painful.
