There is a complete reversal of situation after the advent of VoIP. Prior to VoIP, consumers were being charged high rates for the telephone services they were utilizing. After voip is invented, consumers are getting this high quality service at highly affordable rates, thanks to the competition that prevails among VoIP providers. This competition is again forcing the providers to invest millions of dollars into research and development for the sake of bringing out many innovative and new features so that consumers can benefit by using these features. VoIP providers aim to beat the competition by offering such novel features so that they can have a better market share.
