Including things like comments, recent news and micro-blog streams, website widgets can serve to add real value to existing content, although a look at the most commonly installed widgets indicates that most users prefer a more light-hearted plug-in. The most popular of all are pregnancy countdown timers, indicating that a lot of web users are thinking of the tiniest people in their lives. At the other end of the spectrum, meanwhile, are the big kids whose love of retro computer games ensures that these frequently top the download charts.
