Affordable Health Insurance

I have just beeen laid off from a job I’ve had for eighteen years. I never really appreciated the fact that my employer paid for my health insurance, but now that I don’t have it anymore, I realize what an incredible benefit that was. Now I am caught in a catch-22. I need to buy my own health insurance, but I’m broke because I don’t have a job. How does somebody go about finding affordable health insurance rates? I really need to come up with a solution because I have a six-year-old daughter and she was on my insurance policy. My ex-wife doesn’t have insurance benefits, so I need to cover my daughter as well as myself.
