How Big Are Disabled Showers and Bath Tubs?

July 22nd, 2008

My grandparents currently have a stand up shower on the first floor of their house and a bath tub only on the second. Although they would like to keep the beautiful clawfoot tub that is upstairs, it would be nice to replace the first floor shower with one of those disabled showers and tubs. My grandfather has a difficult time getting up the steps, and he can no longer maneuver well enough to get into a tub, but he loves baths. My only concern is that there would not be enough space for a walk in shower/tub combo. Do they make them the same size as a regular stand up shower only unit?
