Chicken Coups – Simple Brooder

Make a simple brooder from scrap sheet metal duct parts found or similar. The dimensions are flexible.
Cover :- Wooden Frame, covered with screen – 30″ x 29″
Base:- 40″ wide 36″ long and 14″ deep.
Opening:- 40″ x 30″
Front Window:- 6-1/2″ x 31″
2 Side Windows:-6-1/2″ x 20″.
Screen:- Both windows are covered with window screen.
To increase the temperature, lower the light bulb and to decrease rais the bulb. You can start with a 75 watt bulb and as your chicks get older reduce to 60 watts.
Keep an eye on you chicks regarding the temperature.. they will let you know when they are not happy.
