AARP Free Tax Filing Help

November 20th, 2008

Each year, if you need tax filing help for free, you can come early to the AARP tax filing help sessions. In February, there are many volunteers with the AARP that station themselves at community centers and local libraries along with other community based organizations such as the YMCA to help people prepare and file their taxes.

They usually prepare tax returns on papers and print them out so you can just mail to the IRS. However, some of them also give your tax return in electronic format.

There are other organizations that offer free help. You can call United Way to find out where they are and their times of free filing help.
