Difference Between Athletic Workouts and Split Routines
February 11th, 2010
Athletic workouts allow you to train your body for power, function, strength, and speed. An Olympic sprinter doesn’t just train to run faster. He trains to build explosive power, coordination and core strength as well. As a gym enthusiast, you may think in order to achieve an athletic build, you must work muscles in isolation—meaning building one muscle group at a time. This is far from the truth. Genuine athletic workouts incorporate full body workout routines that involve various training methods. It’s all about training movements that mimic real life and sporting situations. Thus, an athlete really does not benefit from doing seated biceps curls.
